It’s always darkest before the dawn….

Sleeping. When was the last time you had a full night sleep. No not asking about your kids, wait. Can you ask that question when you have kids without saying, “well Florey slept from 7-11 and then was up for a hour…..”

We laid in bed this morning before PJ started getting ready for work talking about what married people talk about in the early hours…..nothing of importance. I asked if he slept well and he said ya I guess. Isn’t that just the way it is now, you guess you had a good sleep because well you got some sleep. I went to bed at I don’t know, around 11 and slept until 4:40am. That has to be a record.

Then. So Floreys door from what we can only assume is from all the door slamming (didn’t you know they are 3 going on 15!). The door sticks and is a little difficult to open, so you hear her coming before she’s standing in the door way telling you that she cant get any sleep because of all the noise we are making. Insert eye roll.

At 6:20 I have given up on hope that either of them will make it till 7. Yesterday she woke up at 8:25 and Parker went back to bed for his nap at 8:30, every day cant be a good day.

What do you do? I have heard of these clocks that tell them when to get up, do they work? Because if me losing my mind at 5am in her room doesn’t work and her screaming at the top of her lungs that she cant get any sleep, therefore waking up her brother in process, and then me losing my mind again as we all watch daddy drive to work. They are slowly trying to kill me. Having small toddlers is like ingesting a little bit of arsenic everyday in your oatmeal. It’s not going to kill you today, but it will eventually.

Kids are awesome.

It’s going to be a very long day.

Is it nap time yet?

(Picture for reference, sometimes they sleep, and that’s when my ovaries ache)

Xoxo

  1. We have the gro clock for Cam and it does work 90% of the time. Which is really good. I’d say its effective because we started using it right before we transitioned him from the crib to a big boy bed and we stick to the “rules” the majority of the time. There are days though that he gets up before the sun comes up and then you truly have to think…..do you just bite the bullet and get up early with him or do you tell him no, you have to go back to bed until your sun comes up (which will set off a meltdown for sure). Depends how tired you are hahahaha

It was a rather expensive purchase but i seriously love sleep. Might be worth a try 🙂

    1. That’s what their called!!! I honestly don’t think it’ll work for her. If it’s super early she can usually get back to sleep but I may try it with him since he’s still in a crib. I was a 4 hour sleeper prior to kids lol now I need more lol
